Robinson Crusoe
2020
Jane Rzheznikova, Sasha Dykne, Egor Girnov
Cast: Sergey Okunev, Alisa Selnikova

Robinson Crusoe is a site-specific theatre project which explores the problems of creativity and communication during the lockdown era. Inspired by Caspar David Friedrich, the main character prepares a performance for a courier. He creates landscapes in his rooms, such as a foggy coast and a forest with a “music swamp” inside the bed.

Cast: Vladimir Komarov, Kirill Kukushkin, Mikhail Svistunov

A site-specific performance played in a real working garage cooperative. Three friends create their own world in the garage cooperative named after A. Duma: one of them builds his own radio (a “slow radio”), and another one is an artist and creates a massive self-portrait inside his garage. The viewers see their last day in the cooperative that ends with their disappearance.

2019

Mixed-media installation, 16’00’’

Artists: Elizaveta Guseva, Grisha Rakhmilovich, Jane Rzheznikova

Video Artist Elena Koptyaeva

Starring: Anatoly Bely, Olga Voronina

"Dmitry Krymov produced his installation based on Tintoretto’s Last Supper jointly with the team of the Pushkin Museum Department of Cinema and Media Art.

In the San Trovaso composition the artist placed the sacred scene in the basement with modest furnishings and portrayed its participants as ordinary people surrounded by everyday details. However, the scene is filled with dramatic energy due to compositional effects: the usual perspective is broken, and the participants are involved in the dynamic circulation of what is happening. Tintoretto’s experimental approach was so much ahead of his time that Jean-Paul Sartre called him the first film director in history."
