Dead Souls. Interactive multimedia installation based on Gogol's poem "Dead Souls." The viewer's voice is visualized in a sound wave, which transforms into a paradoxical, complex, densely populated landscape of the 19th-century Russian Empire.

From the musical wave emerge images related to the indigenous peoples of the Russian Empire, such as Ainu or Aleuts. Dramatic episodes in Russian history (the conquest of Siberia, conscription into the army, penal servitude) are juxtaposed with everyday and almost pastoral scenes borrowed from lubok culture.
